The Sunday of the Blind Man
Today, on the Sunday of the healing of the blind man of Jericho, I decided to download a map of Palestine in the time of Christ,
to see where the city lies and trace the route Jesus took to reach Jerusalem.
Jesus walked our roads… He is God, “Emmanuel”, “our God with us”, who walked and blessed our land, our towns and our villages. He is God with us, because he became part of the map of our land.
The meeting with the blind man of Jericho was a special one. The blind man of Jericho was outside “society’s map”… Jesus entered the map of our life’s tangled paths, met the blind man and brought him back to the heart of the map, onto the roads that lead to him and to every person.
Open my eyes, Lord, so that I may see the road on the map of life that passes through my fellow human being, through you and towards you. Amen.
