Several feasts on one day
Today, Sunday 23 April 2017, several spiritual feasts come together in the Church’s liturgy.
Today is New Sunday, the newness of faith that springs from meeting Christ risen from the dead. Since ancient times this Sunday has been considered as important as Resurrection Sunday.
It is also the feast of Divine Mercy, which Pope Saint John Paul II set on this New Sunday.
And it is also the feast of Saint George, the great martyr. A special happy feast to everyone who bears his name!
