Prayer for Inner Healing and Painful Memories
Lord Jesus, you who came to heal our human nature from diseases and pains,
I beseech you to heal the wounds that cause disturbances in my heart.
I specifically ask you to heal those that cause me to sin.
I ask you to enter my life and heal me from the psychological torments that afflicted me in my youth and from the wounds inflicted throughout my life.
Lord Jesus, you know my troubles, I place them all in your heart, the heart of the good shepherd.
I implore you by the great wound open in your heart to heal the small wounds in mine.
Heal the wounds of my memories, so that everything that happened to me in the past does not keep me in pain, distress, and anxiety.
Heal, Lord my God, all those wounds that have been the cause of sins taking root in my life.
I want to forgive all those who have wronged me; look at those inner wounds that make me unable to forgive.
You who came to heal broken hearts, heal my heart with your mercy.
Heal, Lord, my hidden wounds that are the cause of physical illnesses.
I give you my heart, accept it, Lord, purify it and give me the feelings of your divine heart. Help me to be gentle and humble.
Grant me, Lord, healing from the pain that overwhelms me because of the death of those dear to my heart.
By my trust in you, Lord. You are the resurrection and the life, make me able to regain peace and joy anew.
Make me a true witness of your resurrection, your victory over sin and death, and your living presence in my life. Amen.
