Novena to Saint Maria Goretti
1 – Eternal Father, Father of lights, God of every good gift and every perfect grace, I adore You in Your saints, and I thank You for filling Saint Maria Goretti with Your blessings.
Be pleased, Lord, to grant me through her intercession to love You too, following her example, with all my heart, all my soul and all my strength,
to remain faithful in keeping Your commandments and always to do what pleases You.
Saint Maria Goretti, martyr of purity, pray to God for me, that He may not lead me into temptation,
but deliver me from the evil one and his wickedness, and keep my faith and my purity, so that one day I may love Him, bless Him and praise Him with you in heaven for ever. Amen.

2 – O Jesus, my sweet Jesus, only and beloved Son of God, Lover of virgins and of all pure and clean souls, I adore You in Your saints
and I thank You because, in this age so full of turmoil and corruption, You have given us young people, in the person of Saint Maria Goretti, a shining example of virtue.
Grant us, through her intercession, to hate sin as she did, every sin, especially the sin of impurity, and always to prefer death and martyrdom to it.

3 – Most Holy Spirit, God of all goodness and holiness, who make Your home and find Your delight in pure souls and clean hearts, I adore You in Your saints
and I thank You for the heavenly spirit You breathed into Saint Maria Goretti: a spirit of deep hatred for sin, for every sin, especially the sin of impurity. I thank You for filling her with Your divine gifts, especially the gift of fortitude, so that she fought bravely against the enemies of salvation and overcame them.
Grant us, through her intercession, the gift of understanding, so that we may clearly grasp the evil of sin, of every sin, especially the sin of impurity, hate it deeply and resist it with all our strength and courage, even to the shedding of blood if need be.

O Immaculate Virgin, our beloved and tender Mother, you obtained from the mercy of the Most High, for our little sister and patron Saint Maria Goretti, the grace of chastity and angelic purity;
with your help she knew how to guard this precious treasure, worth more than all the treasures of the earth, defending it heroically to the shedding of her blood.
With her and for her, I offer you the thanks that are your due.
Virgin Mother, most pure, most clean, blessed among women, come and help me too to keep my heart, soul and body free from every stain and blemish. Watch over me and protect me from the devil and all the enemies of my salvation.
