You called yourself the handmaid of the Lord, and the Holy Spirit anointed you queen, as he did for the kings of old.
If the Holy Spirit came upon David and he became king, who then are you? And what kind of queen are you?
You who stand before God adorned and clothed in a robe embroidered with gold, before whom the kings of the earth bow down?
The power of the Most High overshadowed you: the power of God that created the vast universe with its unseen galaxies and orbits, and it has become subject to you, for the power of the Most High is like a canopy that goes with you wherever you are.
Should we be amazed that you are our mother and have the power to rescue those who love you from trials and tribulations?
This is faith, and this is our love for you; and for these reasons we honour you, we magnify you, and we worship your Son.
