A Lenten Prayer
Lord Jesus,
my Teacher and my Good Shepherd,
teach me how You want me to offer You my fast in these days.
Teach me, Lord, not only to fast from food with my body, but also to fast in my soul from the desires
that do not please You.
Teach me how to fast through the prayer of my spirit, which longs to touch Your Holy Spirit. Teach me, Lord, to make my fast a letting go of every earthly attachment, so that my heart may cling to You, and my fasting may be for You, with You and for Your sake alone.
