Prayer
On this Sunday of the Faithful Departed, we present to You, heavenly Father,
the souls of all who have fallen asleep, who have crossed our desert and reached You:
fathers and mothers, brothers and sisters, friends, companions, priests and servants.
Seat them at Your right hand; do not deal with them according to the multitude of their sins, but according to the greatness of Your compassion.
For You are just, yet at the same time merciful and tender-hearted,
You who search the heart and mind and know what is hidden in a person as well as what is seen.
As for us, who are on pilgrimage toward You, grant that we may prepare to meet You through daily watchfulness,
so that we may die each day to all that keeps us from You, and know that You are the priceless treasure,
that Your love has no equal, and that Your dwelling is the dwelling of rest, joy and eternal happiness,
which You have prepared from all eternity for those who love You. To You be glory for ever. Amen.
