“Whatever house you enter, first say, ‘Peace to this house!'” (Luke 10:5)
Lord,
You make peace a gift from God to all people: grant our family this peace, without which there is no justice, no love and no forgiveness.
Drive the spirit of anger and resentment far from us. Teach us to listen to one another.
May our home be a haven of peace amid the tensions of this world. Like Your Church, may Christ be the source and the meaning of our life, so that He, the Prince of Peace, may reign over our family.
For this, Lord, teach us enough self-control not to burden others with the tiredness and bad moods we bring home from outside.
Give each of us a heart that understands, an ear that listens and a hand that helps.
By defusing our conflicts, may peace always have the last word among us.
May all who come into our family experience the peace that comes from You. Always remind us how important it is to pray for peace, without which there is no future and no friendship possible among people.
Through the example of our unity and our forgiveness as a family, give our children the experience of peace, so that they may become confident and united witnesses.
Amen.
