(A translation of the meaning of this traditional Marian hymn.)
O Mother of God, full of tenderness, treasure of mercy and help,
you are our refuge, and in you is our hope.
Intercede for us, O Virgin, and have compassion on our departed.
Though your body is far from us, O Virgin, our Mother,
your prayers go with us, stay with us and keep us.
By the One who honoured you above all the world when he was born of you and made manifest,
ask him for mercy on sinners, for ever and ever.
You are our Mother and our refuge, you are our pride and our hope;
intercede for us with your Son, that in his compassion he may forgive our sins.
Do not abandon us, O tender one, O you who are full of every grace,
but save all your servants, so that we may thank you for ever and ever.
