You are the Word of God the Father, before all ages, the great High Priest, who became flesh and was made man for the salvation of the human race, and who called to Himself from all nations a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation and a justified people.
You went up Mount Tabor, taking with You Your disciples Peter, James and John, and were transfigured before them: Your face shone brighter than the sun, and Your garments became like snow. The prophets Moses and Elijah appeared to them, speaking with You about the redemption You were about to accomplish in Jerusalem.
And behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from heaven said: “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to him.”
Therefore we ask and beseech Your goodness, O Lover of mankind: sanctify our souls, bodies, spirits and intentions, all of us, so that with an enlightened soul, an unashamed face, a pure heart, faith without hypocrisy, perfect love and firm hope, we may dare with confidence and without fear to say the holy prayer You gave to Your holy disciples and pure apostles, saying with thanksgiving:
Our Father, who art in heaven…
