Ten years since MIDADE was born in Canada
The first and last aim of this Christian movement is to plant the Word of God in our children’s hearts so that they may grow in wisdom and love. Together with the children, nearly 500 of them, the MIDADE team chose to say goodbye to this year with a commemorative photo in the shape of a cross, drawn with the children’s laughter, their parents’ joy and the hard work of faithful volunteers. The cross is our identity, and we are proud of it: from it we draw strength, and through it we overcome sin.
MIDADE (the International Movement of Apostolate of Children) was launched at Saint Saviour Cathedral at the request and with the blessing of Archbishop Ibrahim Ibrahim, Melkite Greek Catholic archbishop in Canada. The children are accompanied by the movement’s chaplain in Canada, Father Rabih Abou Zeghib, and by the person in charge of the movement, Sister Jackie Abi Nassif, who has been with it from the start.
How wonderful it is to see our children drinking in the Lord’s words, and how great to see them growing in all the highest virtues according to God’s teaching, spreading the fragrance of faith around them! Here’s to many more years with Jesus.
