Novena to God the Father
To be prayed during the nine days before the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord (July 28 to August 5).
God my Father, my Father in heaven, how sweet and good it is to know that You are my Father and that I am Your child! Especially when the sky of my soul grows dark and my cross grows heavy, I feel the deepest need to repeat these words: Father, I believe in Your love for me! Yes, I believe that You are my Father at every moment of my life, and that I am Your child! I believe that You love me with an everlasting love! I believe that You watch over me day and night, and that not a hair falls from my head without Your permission! I believe that You are all-wise and know better than I do what is good for me! I believe that You are all-powerful and can bring good even out of evil! I believe that You are all-good and work all things for the good of those who love You. And even beneath the hands that strike, I kiss Your healing hand. I believe, but increase in me faith, hope and love. Teach me always to see Your love as my guide in every event of my life. Teach me to abandon myself to You like a child in its mother’s arms.
Father, You know everything, You see everything, You know me better than I know myself: You can do all things, and You love me!
Father, since You want us always to turn to You, here I am asking You with complete trust, with Jesus and Mary,

For this intention, united with their pure Hearts, I offer You all my prayers, sacrifices, mortifications, all my actions and greater faithfulness to my duty. Give me the light, grace and strength of Your Holy Spirit. Strengthen me in this Spirit, so that I may never lose Him, never grieve Him and never weaken Him in me.
Father, in the name of Jesus, Your Son, I implore You! And You, Jesus, open Your Heart, place my heart in it and, with the Heart of Mary, offer it to our divine Father! Obtain for me the grace I need!
Divine Father, I call all people to You. Let the whole world proclaim Your fatherly goodness and Your divine mercy! Be my tender Father, protect me everywhere like the apple of Your eye. Make me always worthy to be Your child; have mercy on me!
Divine Father, sweet hope of our souls, may You be known, honoured and loved by all people!
Divine Father, infinitely good and generous, who pour Yourself out on all people, may You be known, honoured and loved by all people!
Divine Father, refreshing dew of humanity, may You be known, honoured and loved by all people!

Prayer:
Father, infinite in goodness and mercy, You who burn with longing to spread the Kingdom of Your love in the hearts of Your creatures, for Your glory and their happiness, we pray to You: may Your will be done, so that You may be known, loved and glorified by all people. And may our families be united in Your peace. We ask this through the merits of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary and all the saints. Amen.
