Today we congratulate you, Virgin Mary, on the resurrection of your Son Jesus from the dead.
Rejoice, Queen of Heaven, rejoice and be glad, for Christ is truly risen, risen from the dead, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia…
Rejoice, joy of life, rejoice, Mother of God: from the darkness of the tomb the dawn of life has broken, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia…
And together with Jesus your Son we congratulate you, Mary our Mother, for your obedience to the word of God, for he said:
“Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!” (Luke 11:28)
We rejoice with you today, glorious Virgin, at the resurrection of your Son Jesus, victorious over death and triumphant over its power. He showed that he alone is Lord of life and death, and no one else. With the resurrection a new age began, an age of love, reconciliation and forgiveness. With the resurrection the gates of heaven were opened and the Lord’s light shone upon the earth. This is true joy after sorrow and pain. Grant us, Lord, through the intercession of your holy Mother, to live the joy of the resurrection with our brothers and sisters all our lives. Amen.
