Day One: Love of Silence
Saint Anthony, you who sought solitude amid your apostolic labours to give yourself to prayer and lose yourself in contemplation, keep us from restlessness and noise, and give us a taste for prayer. Teach us to praise God as you praised Him and to speak to Him as you spoke to Him, and may our hearts, like yours, open to the riches of divine love.

Day Two: Faithfulness
Saint Anthony, by your faithfulness to the Gospel you became the salt of the earth and the light of the world and of the Church. Grant us this same generous faithfulness, so that our lives may be full of good works and all the glory may go to the heavenly Father.

Day Three: Praise
Saint Anthony, whose tongue never knew decay, for it never ceased to praise the Lord or to call people to praise Him, graciously grant that we may share in your praise and proclaim Jesus Christ all the days of our lives.

Day Four: Knowledge of God
Saint Anthony, whom Brother Francis of Assisi asked to teach theology to the first brothers of the Order and to encourage them in the spirit of prayer and devotion, open our minds and hearts to the knowledge of the mysteries of God, and help us always to seek the truth and to live in obedience to the Church.

Day Five: Love for the Poor
Saint Anthony, known as everyone’s saint, you loved the little ones and the poor. Make us behave as brothers and sisters to all who suffer, so that hope may be born in them again and they may discover the path to joy.

Day Six: Goodness of Heart
Saint Anthony, you drew your goodness from the heart of the Child Jesus whom you held in your arms. Give us, with the gentleness of the humble, the zeal of peacemakers, the clarity of the pure of heart and the generosity of the merciful. Teach us to look kindly on our fellow human beings and to love them with all our heart.

Day Seven: Sharing in the Passion of Christ
Saint Anthony, you invite us to discover the value of our lives in the Cross of Christ and to sound the depth of our wound, which only the Blood of the Son of God can heal. Help us to understand the love we have been given and to offer our sufferings for the salvation of the world.
