Now, as the light goes out,
we call upon You, O Creator:
in Your fatherly mercy
keep us under the light of Your love.
May our hearts dream with You,
and may we feel You near as we dream.
May we sing Your glory once again
in the light of the morning soon to dawn.
Give us health in this life,
renew our strength,
and light up with Your brightness
the lonely desolation of the night.
Our Father, hear our sighs
and bring them to Jesus our Lord,
who reigns for ever in Your glory
with You and the Holy Spirit.

Stay with us, Lord, this night, and let Your hand wake us
tomorrow morning, so that we may joyfully celebrate the resurrection of Christ,
who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.
