Translation of the meaning
Come with me from Lebanon, from its valleys, from the eagle’s nest on the heights;
come with me from Lebanon, from the shade of the proud and fragrant cedars.
Alleluia, Virgin of Lebanon!
Who is she who comes up from Lebanon, from the fragrant forests,
her head supported by the right hand of the Son, the living and generous Lord?
Alleluia, O Mary!
Hail, O Mother of God! You are the house of gold that Moses built.
Hail, spring of graces: living water flowed from you, O Mary.
Alleluia, pray for us!
Note: the refrain echoes the Song of Songs 4:8 (“Come with me from Lebanon”) and 8:5; the gold image recalls the gold-covered Ark of the Covenant that Moses had made (Exodus 25).
