Prayer for the Family
Saint Joseph, guardian and steward of the home in which Jesus grew up,
tireless worker who kept with the utmost faithfulness what God entrusted to you, protect our families, enlighten them and keep all harm away from them.
Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, be a mother to each of our families, so that with your constant help they may become domestic churches where faith shines, love reigns and hope gives life. Faithful handmaid of the Lord, be a model for every member of our families, so that each may want, with humility and generosity, what the Lord wants for them.
You who suffered with your crucified Son, ease the sufferings of our families. O Christ, reign over our families and be present in them as You were at Cana in Galilee; pour out on them light, joy and strength. Shower them with Your blessings, with love and peace.
Holy Family of Nazareth, who lived a hidden life and endured poverty, persecution and exile, help our families to carry out their daily responsibilities faithfully, to bear life’s hardships and struggles with faith, to care generously for the needs of others, and to do God’s will with joy. Support our families on the path to holiness, so that they may be a leaven of love, unity and faithfulness in the heart of the world.
