A Prayer of Thanksgiving at the End of the Day
I close my day, O Lord, by thanking You, as I began it by praising You.
Bring all the works of my life to a good end.
May our service, Lord, be pleasing to You,
our prayer be for Your praise,
and our life be for Your glory.
Let dwell, O Lord,
Your love in our souls, Your light in our consciences
and Your peace in our hearts.
As the sun of this day sets, be for us a sun that never sets;
and as we sleep this night, watch over us with an eye that never sleeps.
Do not hold our failings against us, O Lord.
Grant us a peaceful night, restful sleep, an energetic waking
and a morning that brings good news of joy,
through the intercession of Your Mother Mary, joy of the Church and Mother of love.
And we give You glory, now and for ever. Amen.
