Prayer to Saint Anthony of Padua
Beloved Saint Anthony of Padua, in your time you were famous for the word: you loved Jesus and proclaimed that love through preaching, guidance, teaching and writing.
You went from town to town, eager to bring Jesus to people by the simplest ways, the most eloquent words and the clearest lessons. Universities were founded in your name to honour your memory and your rich intellectual and theological gifts.
Allow me, good saint and great teacher, on the eve of your feast, to offer you something dear to me: my humble Facebook page, with its words, texts and expressions, but rich in its friends.
It is a means of connection between people, all people, making it easy to share an event, a word, an image and the Good News by the shortest and quickest routes. I ask you to bless this page with the graces of Jesus, who loved you and to whom you gave all your love and your whole self, so that it may be, as you would wish, a means of preaching, guidance and love, and of spreading the beautiful and true word, close and effective, carrying the Lord’s joy, His tenderness and His feelings to everyone, wherever they may be.
Happy feast of Saint Anthony of Padua to us all… and especially to friends who bear his name.
